McKinney & Doyle Corner Bakery in Pawling. Very high quality, very reasonably priced, and anchoring a nice little downtown.

Holy Cow Ice Cream Shop in Red Hook. They’ll trade two-scoop ice cream cones for two dollars. Unbelievable deal.
- Lola’s in New Paltz. Sit outside on a nice day, then meander to the Empire State Rail Trail around the corner.
- Boice Brother’s Ice Cream in Kingston. Skip the line and find the $2 “mistakes” in the freezer. It’s mis-made sundaes on the cheap. Fill a bag.

Sojourner Truth State Park in Kingston. Nice trails, on the Hudson, very nice. Dog recommends.
